It was time to focus and execute our ideas. We made a list of things to be done, and out of that created committees. Children could sign up for any, all, or none. There were a few children who signed up to be on every one! Committee meetings were held in the cubby room, during playtime. Because they were during playtime (children’s favorite part of the day), I knew that those who signed up were highly committed. Each meeting started with hot cocoa, then open discussion of our ideas. I would write the ideas down and children documented them through drawings
After the Committees met, they reported back to the rest of the group.

Everyone (every single one) pitched in and helped with the work of making the committee plans come alive. We had some busy days. Each child designed their own costume and with the help of Kirsten and Lauren worked the sewing machine. Tom came and listened to our ideas about a forest and helped us to create one. Lights were tested. Tree shadows were created using our projector which we’d had a lot of experience with this year. And one of our favorite materials, cardboard, was used to create Max’s bed and the moon.
